Since the emphasis has been placed on the hard work ahead for the new cabinet, here’s my suggestions for some of our minister’s first day in office. – Bad Gay

Minister of Finance: Pravin Gordhan

• Take down shrine to Trevor Manuel.

Minister of Communications: Siphiwe Nyanda

• Have meeting with Telkom
• Storm out of meeting
• Switch parliament over to Neotel

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: Tina Joemat-Pettersson

• Recycle letterheads with old department name by donating to nearest origami centre

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs: Sicelo Shiceka

• Slaughter a goat to celebrate

Minister of Defence and Military Veterans: Lindiwe Sisulu

• Bring out remixed track of “Mshini Wam” on cassette tape

Minister of Energy: Dipuo Peters

• Propose that title more aptly named as Minister of  Energy Crises

Minister of Health: Dr Aaron Motsoaledi

• Phone Pravin Gordhan to get advice on how he got rid of predecessor’s shrine

Minister of Tourism: Marthinus van Schalkwyk

• Sulk since no longer the only Afrikaner in cabinet

Minister of Arts and Culture: Lulu Xingwana

• Phone Winnie and gloat

Minister in The Presidency – National Planning Commission – Trevor Manuel

• Phone the president and politely ask what the hell new position actually entails
• Ask Pravin Gordhan for shrine back
