To Do list for New Cabinet on first day
Since the emphasis has been placed on the hard work ahead for the new cabinet, here’s my suggestions for some of our minister’s first day in office. – Bad Gay
Minister of Finance: Pravin Gordhan
- Take down shrine to Trevor Manuel.
Minister of Communications: Siphiwe Nyanda
- Have meeting with Telkom
- Storm out of meeting
- Switch parliament over to Neotel
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: Tina Joemat-Pettersson
- Recycle letterheads with old department name by donating to nearest origami centre
Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs: Sicelo Shiceka
- Slaughter a goat to celebrate
Minister of Defence and Military Veterans: Lindiwe Sisulu
- Bring out remixed track of “Mshini Wam” on cassette tape
Minister of Energy: Dipuo Peters
- Propose that title more aptly named as Minister of Energy Crises
Minister of Health: Dr Aaron Motsoaledi
- Phone Pravin Gordhan to get advice on how he got rid of predecessor’s shrine
Minister of Tourism: Marthinus van Schalkwyk
- Sulk since no longer the only Afrikaner in cabinet
Minister of Arts and Culture: Lulu Xingwana
- Phone Winnie and gloat
Minister in The Presidency – National Planning Commission – Trevor Manuel
- Phone the president and politely ask what the hell new position actually entails
- Ask Pravin Gordhan for shrine back
