Dear Mr Nurse

I know this is not the correct way to go about it, but this is the only
contavt detail I could get – me and my family want to give you our heartfelt
condolences on your terrible loss.

I know there is no words that will be able console you and your wife now,
but try and be strong  in this very painful time. We think of you.
